Blu-ray to iPhone XS Max

More and more hot devices like iPhone XS Max, GoPro Hero 7, Samsung NX1,Fujifilm X-T3, DJI Phantom 4 Pro, Galaxy S10, etc store videos using the outstanding H.265 codec. The problem here is, we would love to be able to bring the iPhone XS Max H.265 files into Lightworks directly. But it seems that Lightworks can't handle iPhone XS Max 4K H.265 codec natively. So, any available way to solve the issue?

The iPhone XS Max is a wish come true for all of you who wanted an X Plus. The Max has a massive 6.5" bezel-less OLED display, the fastest chipset on the planet, an improved dual-camera, louder speakers, and the largest battery the iPhones have seen to date. Apple iPhone XS Max captures all kind of videos, all of them - optically stabilized as usual. All except the 4K@60fps clips also feature cinematic video stabilization. All 30fps samples benefit from expanded dynamic range, an improvement over the previous models. The XS Max can also do 1080p at 240fps, just like the iPhone X. Each of these modes and features is available for the telephoto camera as well. The 4K 60fps videos are available only on the new high-efficiency format (H.265 HEVC). The regular 4K at 30 fps, 1080p at 30, and 1080p at 60fps are available for both H.264 and HEVC. The 4K at 24fps film mode is here to stay, too.

As far as we know, H.265 is very likely to be even less NLE friendly than H.264. 4x the picture information compressed into the same size file as HD in H.264 means 4x the processing power needed to reconstruct it on a frame by frame basis in real time. So it is very likely to require a significantly more powerful editing workstation to handle it. The higher the compression, the more juice it takes to decompress for frame accurate editing. Thus, to edit iPhone XS Max H.265 in Lightworks (Pro), a quick solution is to convert H.265 to Lightworks more editing-friendly format, such a H.264 for Lightworks.
